It’s in the headlines almost every day — human trafficking. Modern day slavery. It’s not an “over there” issue. It’s a right here, right now. A silent crime right here in our very own hometown, Orlando.
The statistics are staggering; Florida has the 3rd highest number of calls to the National Trafficking Hotline and Orlando is ranked 2nd in the state for human trafficking cases. According to DCF, the average age of entry is between 12 and 14. This topic can leave us feeling scared for our children and helpless to do anything about it.
The good news is there is a solution and its starts with us being educated and empowered to have bold conversations with our youth and with each other. Zenerjen is partnering with Paving the Way Foundation, (www.pavingthewayfoundation.org) who has been a fierce disruption in the cycle of child trafficking. They’ve educated over 10,000 youth and adults in the past two years with remarkable results. Together we are hosting EDUCATION and EMPOWERMENT workshops for youth and parents to be aware, learn about BOUNDARIES, and how to STAND STRONG for themselves to PREVENT this from happening.
Our youth are vulnerable to the desires to be liked, included, and seek approval from the outside world. It’s a natural part of growing up. With all of the access predators have to our children through the internet — social media, app’s on their phones — it’s hard to know what to do or what to look for and how to have a conversation about it without someone slamming a door, becoming upset, or feeling embarrassed.
That’s where we come in. We are here to educate YOU and YOUR Children in a NATURAL environment to help them see the value they have WITHIN THEMSELVES so it’s easier to turn away from false validation, keeping them safe from a potentially dangerous situation. Our aim is to EMPOWER and PREVENT now so we don’t have to rescue later.
We are hosting an event this December to work with youth and their parents, teaching them leadership, respect, connection, and boundaries in a way only a horse can! This is a FAMILY affair and we would LOVE to support you!!
This workshop is an educational program to prevent our children from being lured into a life they can’t even imagine, provide tools for parents to have the conversations needed that empower their children, and provide insight through the horses who are an integral part of this unique educational experience.
